One major toxic emotion that erodes one’s self confidence is worry. It does so by creating self doubt, fear, anxiety, nervousness, indecisiveness, feelings of uncertainty, a sense of not feeling in control of one’s self and one’s situation, depletes one’s emotional, mental and physical energy resources and much more. It is such a common experience that most people not only take it for granted they also occasionally try to justify that it is in some way useful to them. For instance have you ever heard someone, or yourself, say “If I didn’t worry about things I would feel unprepared, vulnerable or insecure about things. Hence a little worry is a good thing”?
